- A 100-year-old pack of New Zealand butter has been found in Antarctica....in good condition! The butter, bearing the maker's Fernleaf symbol and date, was found in a sack by workers at New Zealand's Scott Base.
- Sunscreen standards are set to change in Australia, increasing the highest level of SPF allowable from 30 to 50+. New Zealand critics call for international consistency and fear an influx of these new products could confuse consumers on this side of the Tasman.
- Christchurch City Council is set to revise the bylaw that addresses advertising of commercial sexual services, the Brothels (Location and Signage) Bylaw of 2004, in hopes that advertising can for these services can be handled in a more appropriate manner.
